Carbon-free hydrogen produced by electrolyzers powered with electricity from off-shore wind turbines could be used as a gas turbine fuel or in a fuel cell to balance the transmission grid as well as to replace natural gas, coal and oil-based liquid fuels to decarbonize heavy industry, manufacturing and transportation, including aviation, reasons a study published by the Clean Energy States Alliance.
