DOE Gets Hydrogen Hub Advice from Industry and Others
Ohio, Pa. and W.Va. Groups Answer Department’s RFI
The Stark Area Regional Transit Authority, SARTA, a public transit system in Canton, Ohio, has been a driving force for the adoption of hydrogen powered fuel cell buses for more than a decade. SARTA currently operates 20 fuel cell buses, including five para transit vehicles. Working with Ohio State and Cleveland State universities, SARTA also organized the Ohio Clean Hydrogen Hub Alliance. This week the Alliance, with more than 50 industrial, commercial and professional members, including Dominion Energy, responded to DOE's initial RFI, to create a grants program authorized to spend up to $2 billion leading to the creation of a multi-state hydrogen hub, producing hydrogen from the region's vast natural gas reserves for industry and commercial customers while sequestering the resulting CO2. | SARTA
