The Mitsubishi Corporation, working with other Japanese companies, plans to ship hydrogen around the globe in conventional tankers by incorporating the odorless and colorless gas in a more familiar "carrier" organic chemical, such as methylcyclohexane, which is a liquid at ambient temperatures and can be handled like gasoline. A top Mitsubishi manager explained the process Thursday during a webinar produced by the D.C.-based Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS).
